most beautiful hotel one can wish for. Gorgeous gardens, big terrace with stunning views, rooms are spacious and authentic Italian style. Girls at the reception are very helpful, speak perfect English and were able to help us a lot with restaurant reservations and more. If you have an issue to solve and there is an aged man/who understands no English at the reception- just wait for the girls and ask them. It’ll be fixed
Private beach was a great bonus. We swam every day
The food is the best thing about this place... Truly outstanding!
It's the only 5* hotel in the area, so the lack of competition has made them complacent in the service department - not very flexible or accommodating.
Rooms are specious and have great views over the lake, but feel slightly outdated - the bathrooms even more so.
The spa area is underwhelming compared to the outside area.
I invested a lot of time and effort into choosing a hotel for our vacation at Lago Maggiore and i think this Hotel was indeed the best choice. With stunning entrance, immaculate gardens and private beach at the lake- the lobby and the location… I think also after seeing all other tows - the town of Verbania is the best base to explore the lake- beautiful, well maintained and peaceful but also quite a few great restaurants - and a boat station- all within short walk from the hotel!
Ok, breakfast staff were indeed not always great- (the older waiter behaves like he has really had enough and needs to go on pension)) But the reception girls were great! Always friendly, quick and professional- they recommended awesome restaurants and made our dinner reservations.
I have **really enjoyed ** our early morning or late evening swim in the lake and drinks on the stunning terrace with a view to die for. Breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel. Best place on Lago Maggiore! Unforgettable vacation.
It is a very charming hotel in a beautiful area by the lake of Maggiore. Unfortunately, the downside is that the rooms need be renovated a bit, and the reception staff could be unfriendly at times. They just do need a smile!
It’s a bit old, but that’s the case for all Verbania hotels. Staff were nice and accommodating. Suite designed poorly with stairway leading to the bathroom with a tiny sitting area on the upper level
Love it here. Beauty, art, relaxation, amazing views, great community. We felt very welcome here, even with two young children. Breakfast was very good. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, understated. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic experience overall. The garden area next to the lake is a piece of heaven. Play tennis and have a swim afterwards.
If you are lucky enough to afford such a hotel, pay up for the lake view, its worth it. Food divine, fried fish, rabbit ravioli and creme brulee out of this world.
Service sometimes seems a bit chaotic (it‘s Italy!) but always with gusto and heart. Recommended.
The location is simply superb, the staff wonderful - especially Christian, who is in charge of the terrace bar. His customer service skills are on par (if not better) than of someone in his role in a 5* prime location. The room (you can only book a room with full lake view directly at the hotel) was lovely. I saw some reviews here complaining about the room standard - for Italy and this area in particular, the standard is not as high as other locations you might have traveled to. So it’s a solid 4* for the location.
The indoor pool is lovely and so is the terrace lawn, with its direct access to the lake.
Breakfast was amazing too and the breakfast room has breathtaking views as well, so you start every day with a wonderful outlook.
